J.Crew Clearance Finds

I love J.Crew's clearance sales. And it doesn't help that the store I work at is next door to it. Its hard not to find something when clearance is an extra 40% off! (P.S. College students, listen up! You can use your 15% student discount ON TOP of the extra percentage most of the time!! I always ask just to be sure. How cool is that?).

I bought two items with Christmas money from my grandparents.

The first is this flannel:

The color is a little off in my photo. Here's a link to the picture I pinned on Pinterest.

I purchased this Boy Shirt in Grey Tartan at the J.Crew store. It was the only one left in the store and was in a size two. Normally, I wear anywhere from an x-small to small in tops and size four to six in pants. This flannel is a "boy fit" so its intended to fit looser. I tend to size down when things fit loose because I like things a little more fitted. I wanted this to layer under sweaters also so I needed a tighter fit.

Here is a better picture of the color:

Right now, this shirt is on sale (online) for $69.99, plus it will be an extra 40% off that price! If its still available in the store, you can score an extra 15% off, making the shirt about half off! That's not bad considering the shirt was normally about $90!

I'm obsessed with the colors of this. Its the right amount of dark red and greys to look "winter-y." The smaller tartan pattern helps to add a bit of femininity to an otherwise fairly masculine shirt. I wore this (pictured at left) tucked into a grey skirt with black tights, black flats, and a statement necklace to dress it up a bit. I also plan to layer this under every sweater I own to add an extra layer of warmth as well as a little flair.

The second item I bought in the sale was a sweater:

This is the Double-Zip Sweater in Colorblock. I found this sweater in the store, again, as the last one available. I'm not sure if this was available in stores or only online (the tag looked slightly different to me), but there may have been other colors available! It is currently sold out online. I bought this sweater in a size small. I like the fit because its looser without being baggy. The zippers add the perfect amount of detail to this otherwise plain sweater. I personally like having the bottom zippers halfway unzipped when I wear this.

I found this sweater in the clearance section. After having the sales associate check the price for me, it turned out to be on sale for $69.99. After the 40% clearance and 15% student discount, I bought the sweater for about $35 dollars!

What deals did you find this clearance sale season? I'm always eager to hear other tips and tricks for the best deals!
